'An Italian Christmas' Wine Evening with Michael Palij MW on Thursday 28th November at Beaumont

Thrilled to announce that the wonderfully charismatic Michael Palij MW will be in Jersey again to host 'An Italian Christmas' wine tasting on Thursday 28th November 2024 from 6:30pm in our tasting room at Beaumont.

Those who already know Michael will know about his outstanding knowledge and presentation style. It will be a great evening full of fun and great stories!

On arrival we will enjoy a glass or two of the gorgeous bottle fermented Zucchetto Prosecco, then take our seats for a guided tasting of 7 Italian reds and whites. Italian meat and cheese platters will be served during the event and we will enjoy some panettone to finish alongside a Recioto.

Background on Michael Palij MW...

Michael Palij is an adventurer, entrpreneur, and Master of Wine. A Canadian, Michael emigrated to the UK in 1989 after reading English and Philosophy at the University of Toronto and began his career in the British wine trade with legendary retailer, Oddbins. He was admitted to the Institute of Masters of Wine in 1995 at the age of 29. In 1992 Michael was appointed buyer for a chain of independent shops and made his first visit to Italy the same year. He promptly fell in love with both the country and its wines and established the import agency, Winetraders, which continues to import Italian wines from more than a dozen regions; its success has prompted expansion into Spain, Germany and the New World.

Michael was the founding fund manager for the Institute of Masters of Wine Endowment Fund and is now a Director of the IMWEF. He is a keen cyclist, runner and mountaineer. He lives in Oxfordshire.

We are no longer accepting ANY pre-registrations and all event tickets will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis. Tickets MUST be purchased via our website or with any restaurant directly only. No telephone or email bookings, sorry.

If you decide to cancel any events to be held at Dunell's, please notify us as soon as possible. The team will endeavour to resell your ticket(s) so that a refund can be given. Alternatively you can pass your ticket on to someone else but please advise of the new ticket owner. Refunds on any ticket(s) will NOT be given within 14 days of the event unless we are able to successfully resell your ticket(s).
