Staete Landt is the old Dutch name given to New Zealand by Abel Tasman when he discovered the island in 1642. It means: “Land discovered in honour of the Governors (Staete) of the Dutch Republic”.
It is made from 100% estate grown fruit from their 21 hectare vineyard on the ‘Golden Mile’ in Rapaura Marlborough.
Wonderfully aromatic, the bouquet shows rockmelon, grapefruit, fresh cut grass and lime peel characters, followed by a succulent palate that is concentrated and persistent. The wine offers excellent fruit purity backed by vibrant acidity, finishing long and delicious. A great example of a typical New Zealand Sauvignon blanc.
