Top producer, located in the Loire Valley, France. This is like their 1er Cru vineyard and is worth paying the extra money but still great value compared to Central Loire (Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé).
The Gros-Plant Perle Bleu is made from the Folle Blanche grape variety, a historical variety from the Nantes area (west of France). The vine is pruned short and yields are limited. In order to preserve its freshness, the wine is bottled in spring after maturing all winter on fine lees.
With a brilliant pale green colour, its nose is iodized and lively. The palate is fresh and slightly lemony, giving it a fine salty tension. Serve chilled at 8-10°C.
