BIRD IN HAND Chardonnay - Adelaide Hills 2022 Bottle

Chardonnay grapes were hand-picked in the cool early morning from our estate vineyard at Woodside, as well as other premium blocks in Mt Torrens, and Woodside. Grapes were carefully sorted, before being whole bunched pressed directly into French oak barrels. Barrels spent 9 months on their yeast lees prior to selective blending by the winemaking team. Bird in Hand Chardonnay consists of 40% new oak from premium tight grained French oak with the balance from barrels 1 – 4 years old.

Straw yellow in colour, on the nose the wine is nuanced and complex, evoking aromas of yellow peach, star jasmine and hazelnut. On the palate, this Chardonnay showcases intense flavours of almond meal, creamed honey and fresh papaya. Focused acidity creates palate length and will ensure ageing ability. The perfect partner to scallop chowder, new season lamb loin with summer vegetables and Kangaroo Island marron.
