Concha y Toro launched the Amelia brand in 1993. This distinctive and elegant Chardonnay expresses the unique character of the Quebrada Seca vineyard. Amelia was Chile’s first Ultra Premium Chardonnay.
Tasting notes: Crystalline, brilliant, light yellow in colour, with complex, multi-layered with aromas of white flowers and pears, with a predominance of mineral notes. Refreshing with an excellent combination of structure and minerality with a very attractive salinity on the long, fresh finish.
Food pairing: Pairs beautifully with sea bass, sesame-crusted tuna, lobster bisque, New England clam chowder, scallops au gratin, and seafood paella, as well as roasted Cornish game hens, corn chowder, pumpkin soup, salmon-stuffed ravioli, and pastas with light cream sauce.
JAMES SUCKLING 97 points
Very serious and complex aromas of oysters, cooked apples, fresh seaweed and crushed stone. Full-bodied with a phenolic tension and depth. Chewy and impressive, with a phenolic finish. Excellent structure. No malolactic. Super drinkability and possibility to age. Drink now or hold.
