VINA PROGRESO Pinot Noir 'Overground' - Canelones 2018 Bottle (los)

Description

The pale garnet colour is the first good sign! So often we find southern hemisphere Pinot dark and over-extracted and thus lacking typicity. Not so here. The nose is distinctly Pinot, with lots of fragrant red fruits, then there are enchanting notes of mushroom, soft cheese and even a touch of almond. The texture in the mouth is excellent; fresh and lean with well-balanced acidity to complement the fruit.

The wine has a wild, untamed quality that we like very much and along with the other varietals in this range, it shows there is so much more to Uruguay than Tannat.
