Second wine of the illustrious 2ème Grand Cru Classé Château Rauzan-Ségla, and made for earlier drinking. Drinking now, and over the next decade. Priced as such we'd say this is superb value; we love the elegant, refined texture, the depth, the length and breadth of flavour.
The nose is ripe and fragrant, with notes of blackcurrant, damson, violet and toasted oak. The tannins are soft and silky, with a persistent finish. Drink Date: 2020 - 2030 - Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Ségla sings of warm black cherries, blackberry pie and wild blueberries with hints of redcurrant jelly and black tea. Medium-bodied, the palate is laden with straightforward red and black berry flavors with a soft texture and well-poised finish. - Reviewed by: Lisa Perrotti-Brown
