Description

Monprivato is the Mascarello family’s most historic estate vineyard, purchased in 1904, located in the commune of Castiglione Falletto. Thanks to its south-west exposure and soils rich in blue marl and silt, it is known to be one of the best plots in the entire Barolo appellation, giving the wines good structure and longevity and delicate aromas. From here comes the historical Barolo of the winery, but produced only in the best vintages, in fact if they are not considered worthy, the grapes are downgraded to Langhe Nebbiolo. With plants of about 50 years old, the wine has a traditional aging in large oak barrels for 3 years.

This is a Barolo that can give great satisfaction over time, delicate but with a great texture. Aromatic open red fruits. Open charming with grip and persistence, very fine-tuned sunny ripe red berries but with great detail and precision. Floats gently across the palate. A beauty. If you ask most Piedmontese growers which vineyard they would buy, money no object, the response is invariably Monprivato.
