Fourteenth generation winemaker, Louis Barroul of Château de Saint Cosme fame, is one of the most highly respected winemakers in the Rhône Valley and is affectionately referred to by fellow winemakers of the region as the ‘Genius of Gigondas’. With great determination and flair, he showcases the great potential of the terroir with his outstanding cuvées from carefully selected vineyards. The Saint Cosme Gigondas estate includes 15 hectares of very old vines with an average age of 60 years.

The microclimate is cool and late ripening which produces Gigondas that are both powerful and refined at the same time. The ancient know-how that has been passed down through the generations combined with the organic viticulture allows these old vines to truly express this exceptional terroir.

An exquisite Gigondas with depth, mellowness and a saline freshness offering nuances of strawberry, violet, iodine and liquorice and an everlasting finish.
