The golden oriole (‘papa figos’ in Portuguese) is one of the rarest birds in the Douro region. An attractive, brightly-coloured migratory bird, its uniqueness and rarity make it the perfect inspiration for this lovely wine from Casa Ferreirinha. A truly modern example of Douro light wine showcasing the fresh, vibrant fruit and fine, balanced structure that can be achieved with careful grape selection from some of the finest vineyards in the region. Ruby red in colour with violet nuances. On the nose, the wine is bursting with aromas of juicy strawberries, blackberries and cherries. On the palate, velvety tannins give a smooth mouthfeel and a lively acidity balances the ripe fruit flavours and carries them onto the lingering finish.
