It is with great pleasure that we offer the 2018 vintage from Bien Nacido Estate, Santa Barbara County. The Miller family owns many of the best vineyards in California and winemaker Trey Fletcher, a protégé of Ted Lemon at Littorai, takes full advantage of the outstanding fruit to craft the Bien Nacido Estate wines.

If you are new to California, the Bien Nacido wines make a superb introduction. If you are already well acquainted, these beautiful wines do not disappoint!

The estate also offers a gorgeous Syrah. Antonio Galloni describes the 2018 Syrah as “Dark, aromatic and beautifully layered… [and] incredibly delicious”, whilst Wine Enthusiast says: “very floral, offering flavors of crumpled lavender and violet, with hints of tar and inky fruit as a taut structure packs it all together.” The Santa Maria Valley enjoys a funnel shape and unimpeded access to cooling breezes and fog from the Pacific Ocean, allowing for a long growing season without excessive ripening – perfect for this complex, elegant Syrah.

“The 2018 Syrah Bien Nacido Vineyard captures the essence of this site so well. Dark, aromatic and beautifully layered in the glass, the 2018 is propelled by beams of tannin that give the wine energy and focus. Inky dark fruit, lavender, licorice, black pepper and grilled herbs develop in the glass, building into the textured finish. The 2018 will benefit from a bit of time to soften, but it is incredibly delicious and inviting now.”
