Fragrant on the nose with delicate aromas of red cherries, blackberries and a hint of violet. The persistent mineral note present on the nose is echoed on the palate. Dense with a rounded texture, Salterio displays concentrated flavours of sweet and savoury cherry, complimented by light floral notes. Its spicy touch and lingering freshness make it a very versatile wine. Slightly chilled, Salterio Mencía will make a refreshing aperitif and will definitely pair with a wide array of dishes such as: traditional Spanish cold cuts, “arroz al horno” (baked rice), bean stew, Galician beef empanada, roasted turkey. Native to North-Western Spain, this Mencía comes from 70 years old vines which impart it a succulent fruit concentration, smooth tannins and mineral note true to the region.
