Our BRAND NEW Customer Wine Cellar Storage Facility - Completed June 2024
BEFORE IT STARTED FILLING...
Wine Storage
Dunell’s has offered a comprehensive and secure storage service for wine collectors and investors at all levels for many years now. Whether you have one case or hundreds of cases, you can be sure that your wine is handled professionally, safely and securely at all times.
Storage Conditions
Our customer reserves are now stored in our brand new bespoke wine cellar, located here in Jersey that was completed in June 2024 after a 9 month long project. Its thick, granite walls, added internal insulation, temperature and humidity-controlling units and zero exposure to natural light ensure optimum conditions for wine storage that are unaffected by fluctuating weather patterns and other outside influences.
Temperature and humidity are monitored constantly by strategically located sensors that send information directly to a member of our team immediately notifying them of any adverse changes that arise.
Security
Our customer reserves cellar is completely secure and protected by a state-of-the-art intruder alarm system, a state-of-the-art fire alarm system and CCTV cameras. Both alarm systems are directly linked to a 24-hour monitoring service.
Under Bond
A section of our customer reserves cellar can accept Bonded goods. We recommend that if your wines may be destined for eventual re-sale off-Island or moved off-Island for any other reason that they are stored under bond if possible. Not only to defer the costs of duty and GST but also to provide traceability and ensure provenance.
Goods entered into our bonded warehouse will attract a fee of £5.00 per case (any size).
Stock Checks and Accountability
Our team carries out regular stock checks, including spot checks. All customer reserves are uniquely referenced to the customer on both the physical case itself and on our professionally IT-managed and backed-up stock control system with both the customer’s name and unique rotation number for each case clearly and unambiguously identified. Should you wish to view your reserves in person, this can, of course, be arranged by appointment.
Storage Charges
Our storage year runs from 1st May to 30th April. An inventory of reserves held in Jersey and also purchases held overseas, will be sent out alongside our storage invoice shortly after the 1st May each year. Customers may also request a list of their wines held in reserve at any time.
2024-25 storage charge per case per year (or part year): £15.00 per 12 bottles, £8.00 per 6 bottles or less, excluding GST.
Deliver/Collection Charges
Delivery of customer reserve wines will be charged at £4.00 per case (ex-GST). Collection can be made from any of our shops for no charge.
Insurance
All goods will be insured by Dunell’s to full replacement value.
Which wines can I store?
Customers wishing to consolidate their wine cellar may store wines purchased from Dunell’s as well as wines purchased elsewhere. A booking-in charge of £6.00 per case (ex-GST) will be levied for wines not purchased from us to cover administration costs and you can rest assured all wines are treated in the same professional way, wherever they are purchased.
Please note that we cannot be held responsible for the condition of wines purchased elsewhere as we do not know their previous storage history.
Law also requires you to supply an original proof of purchase, including the purchase price, before bonded stock is transferred.
Withdrawing Wines from Reserve
We require a request in writing (this can be by letter or email) from the account holder to withdraw a wine from reserve. If the wine is held in joint names, we require a letter of consent signed by both parties.
We require two working days’ notice for any request.
