Released in September 2022 with only 9540 bottles to go around, Compass Box's seventh edition of the Flaming Heart Series continues its legacy of combining heavily-peated malt whiskies and malts extra matured in virgin toasted French oak. Powerful and harmonious malts worthy of blending don't come around often, the 2022 release uses a new power trio of Laphroaig, Talisker and Caol Ila to bring melodic peat but have also evolved to introduce a deep fruitness. A high-energy nose with smouldering peat embers, cigar wrapper and candied ginger. The palate is oily, smoky, rich and savoury.
