Description
Don Fulano Reposado is the great representative of the spirit of Don Fulano: a marriage of mature highland agave with French limousine oak. It’s rich and buttery, yet strangely delicate and ethereal at the same time. Cooked agave fully expresses itself and blends seamlessly with an herbal sweetness, hints of mature fruit compote and dark chocolate. There’s also a slight spice element which emerges from its delicate finish. A joy to sip on its own, paired with food or in a great cocktail.
TASTING: Immediately very fruity on the nose – red fruits, especially cherries, and jam. The sweetness of cooked agave enhances the fruitiness, with delicate herbal notes providing a balancing counterpoint. The French oak influence becomes obvious on the palate, with rich caramel, maple syrup and creamy vanilla flavours. With those is fruity dark chocolate, some of the jam from the nose, although deep in the mix, and gentle spiciness. The cask influence is felt yet again in the finish, where agave pepperiness quickly fades to vanilla. Well-selected casks have turned this Tequila into something quite special, with the spirit character complementing the flavours created during ageing.
