A family domaine since 1856, Veuve Fourny has been run by brothers Charles-Henry and Emmanuel Fourny since 1993, the fifth generation of the family. They farm owns 9 hectares of land in the premier cru of Vertus with its unique microclimate and deep, chalky subsoils and are blessed with south-easterly aspects. Their Chardonnay vines average 40 years of age and are nurtured with great care, farmed without any chemicals or artificial fertilisers. The aim is to express finesse and purity, blending their parcels to create harmony and never losing sight of the expression of terroir.
This Cuvée is made purely from Chardonnay grapes harvested by hand, and reveals all the know-how of the Veuve Fourny house. It is blended from different plots within the Vertus Premier Cru, from three consecutive vintages, with 20% of Reserve wines and very little dosage of just 5 grams/L.
An ideal companion for your aperitifs, it is a Champagne for pleasure that combines creaminess and sharpness with a saline finish. It will bring out the best in Sushi and sashimi...
