The talented Olivier family farm their 11 hectare domaine on the right bank of the River Marne just downstream from Epernay. The Olivier vineyards are on the steep, free-draining, south-facing slopes of the commune of Trélou-sur-Marne. The estate was created in 1910, and is now run by the fourth generation, brothers Bertrand and Julien. They believe in crisp, fresh, low dosage champagnes with complexity and character arising from extended ageing on the lees prior to disgorgement.
70% Pinot meunier, 20% Pinot noir, 10% Chardonnay.
A delicate Rosé Champagne full of freshness making a great aperitif and goes amazingly well with red fruits desserts. Broad and open. Abundant red fruit, refreshing strawberry, with notes of fresh orange and pear with a hint of kirsch on the nose and on the palate the softness on the tongue is nicely balanced by a touch of acidity and a slight bitterness evocative of orange marmalade whilst the entire register is lifted by subtle notes of pepper and pear.
