The arrival of anything Douglas Laing draws incredible excitement not only for myself, but also for a number of our fantastic customers who’ve recognised the incredible value for money and quality that Douglas Laing blends and independent bottlings represent. Today, a number of limited editions from across their Remarkable Regional Malts (RRM) range have started to hit the shelves, including a ‘Crocodile Cask’ Rock Island (Islay & Island Blend), ‘Ex-Cuvee Cask’ Epicurean (Lowland Blend), ‘Chocolate Edition’ Scallywag (Speyside Blend) and ‘Cheese Cellar Collection’ Timorous Beastie (Highland Blend)!
DOUGLAS LAING Rock Island 'Chinese Year of the Dragon' Cask Strength Bottle (70cl) 54.8%abv
Rock Island is a unique celebration of Scotland’s Whisky Islands and the seas that surround them. A unique marriage of Single Malts distilled on Orkney, Arran, Jura and Islay. Celebrating the Chinese Year of the Dragon in 2024, namely the Wood Dragon, this rare Limited Edition has been finished in fiercely charred ‘crocodile’ casks.
Nose: Experience ashy bonfire embers, grilled pineapple and soft peat smoke on the nose.
Palate: Anticipate waves of sea-salt, caramelised sugar and BBQ'd banana.
Finish: The finish has remnants of smoke with brown sugar, coconut and salted caramel.

Palate: The palate offers crisp orchard fruit and toasted almonds.

As Douglas Laing’s mighty mouse searches the globe to find the ultimate flavour profile to be paired with cheese, this latest release sees our classic Highland Malt carefully finished over several months in the finest, and most exquisite, Madeira casks releasing a new depth of character to our already sublime spirit.
Nose: Ripe orchard fruits, honeyed sweetness, toasted almonds, and a subtle floral bouquet.
Palate: Toffee, caramelised apples and juicy plums with a gentle spiciness and silky mouthfeel.
Finish: A symphony of sweet vanilla, orange marmalade, and a gratifying warmth that invites you to savour every drop.

Douglas Laing matures Bruichladdich in a Chateau Haut-Brion ex-red wine cask!

A particularly special launch that should be on the radar of every Bruichladdich fan is the new 12 Year Old Old Particular Bruichladdich that was fully matured in Haut-Brion ex-red wine casks. Yielding 386 bottles, this is a timeless limited edition that needs to be savoured, not stored. You just have to see the colour of this thing, it’s absolutely wild (and natural colour!)
Nose: A floral, fresh sweetness develops to polished wood and honey’d malt.
Palate: Raspberries and clotted cream alongside a spiced oak depth with juicy apricots.
Finish: Long with autumn fruits, a hint of orange blossom and a gristy character.
